The First 31 (After a Break Up) Day 7 — The Relapse Period

by Jason Smith on February 9, 2012

I think after every break-up most of us goes through what I like to call “The Relapse Period”. It’s a time where doubt creeps in and you start feeling sorry for yourself. You have to remember what I said from day one, everyday will be a different journey. Don’t look to someone to fill a void knowing you’re not completely over your ex. It’s a healing process and the key word is process. It will take time; you will have vulnerable periods, but don’t give up. As I said before, know your self worth. If you don’t like being alone, call a friend, get out the house and get your mind off things.

This relapse period will happen, either on day seven or day eleven, you will go through it. Like the saying goes, “this too shall pass”, and it will. This period will pass, the feelings you have will pass, and the relapse period will pass.

“Rather than viewing a brief relapse back to inactivity as a failure, treat it as a challenge and try to get back on track as soon as possible.”
